13 Things This Week

Here’s a look at some interesting things we read/ saw / thought / did this week.

Bookish

ONE. Have you read any of the The 24 Most Popular Book Club Picks on Goodreads? I’ve read almost half of the books on the list.

TWO. I love seeing What this Bookstore’s Customers Bought in April 2018. In the bookstore in my town, I noticed a heavy marketing of The Female Persuasion, Meg Wolitzer.

THREE. Major book awards this month include The Nebula Awards and Best Translated Book Awards.

FOUR. Are you participating in any of the May #BookBlogger events?

FIVE. Do you follow the NYTimes Bestseller List? We recently featured Reading From The Bestsellers List [Ready Player One]. Have you read it – or watched the movie yet?

SIX. I finished reading Caraval, Stephanie Garber which was a fun young adult novel with an interesting world of magic (and currently the hardcover is only $9.99 @ Amazon). My next read was an audiobook to keep me company while I traveled – Circe, Madeline Miller. It’s a wild tale of the Greek gods.

SIX. There’s a goldmine of tips in The Ultimate Guide to Blog Traffic (How I Consistently Generate 200,000 Pageviews Every Month).

SEVEN. How to Find Time to Blog When You’re a Busy Blogger – when do you find time?

Life

EIGHT. While you’re spring cleaning, don’t forget the digital clutter – use The ultimate digital decluttering calendar.

NINE. Here’s 10 Apps We Use On A Daily Basis. Do you use any of them? What’s your most frequently used app?

TEN. 6 Tips to Spring Clean Your Financial Goals is a timely reminder to some things to do to stay on top of your money game.

ELEVEN. Sundays is GYST (Get Your Shit Together) day in my house, so I loved the tips in How To Prepare For A Positive And Productive Week, On A Sunday.

TWELVE. Here’s 6 Ways to Handle Hard Days – do you have any suggestions? Sometimes I zone out with a good book to take my mind off things.

THIRTEEN. We’ve got you covered with Read Eat Watch [The May Edition] – our latest monthly feature.

Thank you so much for linking to my post! I’m so glad I discovered your website this way, you have so many great posts, can’t wait to go through all the book lists (though I really need to stop buying so many books:))
    Thanks again,

Thanks for the link to the decluttering post. Super useful.

I couldn’t get into Ready Player One, though I know it’s popular with the people, and I have no interest in the movie.

I like the blue background! So pretty.

  3. Such an interesting list, as always!

I’ve read 10 of the Best Book Group Books list…and all the others are on my TBR list!

Ready Player One was my favorite book of the year the year I read it – and my son and husband loved it, too! It was one of those books we passed around the house, so the three of us went to see the movie and enjoyed it, too – luckily, it had been long enough since reading the book that none of us could tell what had been changed, so we just enjoyed it.

Don’t forget – Big Book Summer will start at the end of the month, Memorial Day weekend! I can;t wait – my Big Books have been piling up!

@Sue – You know we’ll be in for Big Book Summer! I forgot to list it in May’s #BookBlogger Events – but will list it in June. Thanks for always hosting it.
