13 Fun Things to Do in Autumn {Fall}

Fall is rapidly becoming one of my favorite seasons – and it’s a theme now for me to make a seasonal list of fun things to do. I published this list last year – but I’m changing it up a wee bit, and bringing it back as a reminder to get out and have fun!

13 Fun Things to Do in the Fall

  1. Go on a Fall Hike. The hanging colors of the leaves is such a beautiful sight!
  2. Go to a Fall Festival. .
  3. Visit a Haunted House. 6 Flags Fright Fest is a must this year.
  4. Visit a Corn Maze. Last year we cheated to finish – this year … we’ll probably do the same thing – but hey, it’s fun.
  5. Run a Halloween themed race. With zombies.
  6. Make (or Buy) fresh Apple Cider.
  7. Eat or drink something with pumpkin. Dunkin’ Donuts Pumpkin Coffee is so damn good.
  8. Read a Scary Book. Or 2 … or 3. Cuddle up with a book and a blanket and read into the wee hours of the morning.
  9. Take a day trip.
  10. Dress in a costume for Halloween. Something scary of course!
  11. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit.  Because it’s fun!
  12. Decorate for Halloween. And make the front entrance too creepy for trick-or-treaters.
  13. Decorate for Christmas. Don’t leave it until the last minute.

  1. I think this is a great list. Thanks for linking up with Small Victories Sunday.

  2. I love fall, we love to play in the leaves and have a family football game. I don’t do much running but the boys have a blast. I love taking walks outside in the fall, I’m ready for this rain to stop!

Glad to see you at Small Victories Sunday Linkup again this week. Pinned to our linkup board, sharing on my blog Facebook page and tweeted.

Thanks Tanya. I love going through the Small Victories LinkUp on a Sunday!

  3. I’d really like to sign up for a fall race. I mean, I’d be walking it, but it would still be fun to do!

@Jamie – walking races is so fun! I’ve done a few, and the way I see it – hard work is hard work, no matter the pace or distance 🙂

Fun! I’ve done a corn maze but never finished correctly. It’s crazy. You need a good sense of direction.

You are such a fun person! You have some wonderful suggestions and I will sure follow many of those you listed. We are in the middle of the woods, rural living, so we never ever get trick-or-treaters but i can sure get on board with your other ideas!

I think I would love rural living and am trying to convince the husband that’s the next move 🙂

A corn maze sounds awesome! I don’t think that we even have those here. I like taking walks during fall as well, the colours are so pretty!
I made pumpkin risotto a while back and it was really yummy, Pumpkin recipes aren’t that popular here in the Netherlands, but luckily there are enough to find on Pinterest.

Yummy! I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin either – so I mainly go for pumpkin flavored beverages.

  8. This is also actually when I start shopping for Christmas presents. i can’t stand the crowds that come out as the holiday gets close. I do love sitting by the firepit this time of year.

So smart with the shopping! I’m totally last minute, but this might be the year I change 🙂
