Here’s a look at some interesting things I read/ saw / thought / did this week.
Bookishness
* The Library (Usually) Doesn’t Want Your Used Books maybe not even your new book – I didn’t know this.
* 10 Lies Bookworms Get Told All The Time is so true! A book is never “the next” anything – I hate when they try to us that as a marketing ploy.
* It was Goodreads 10th anniversary recently and you have to read the Ten of Our Top Reviews of All Time!
* Fall Reading is a thing. The weather is getting cooler and curling up with a good book feels like the thing to do. 28 New Fiction Books To Add To Your Must-Read List This Fall combed through many listicles and put it all together for us.
* Funniest thing I saw all week – Best #RuinABookInOneLetter Tweets.
* How many books do you read at once? (Not literally at once…). For me – it’s 3. An audiobook, a physical book and an eBook on my phone.
* What I’ve Learned Reading My TBR makes some really good points.

Life
* Hopefully you already know that Equifax Hackers Might Have Your Social Security and Credit Card Numbers but Think Twice Before Signing Up For Equifax’s ‘Free’ Credit Monitoring – seriously … think twice! Equifax has updated their terms to be more “friendly”.
* Interesting reading Can a former president be Happy to see what they do after their time in office is over.
* Here’s How T-Mobile Customers Can Score Free Netflix . I’ll be first in line on September 12th to see if I qualify for this.
* With all the things happening in the WORLD, here’s How To Live In The World (Not In A Bubble).
* How Wells Fargo Screwed $80 Million Out Of Customers Using Unnecessary Car Insurance. Yes – again! If you’re still a Wells Fargo customer right now … well, see the above point – because you’re definitely living in a bubble and haven’t been paying attention to the news!
* I laughed my ass off at Stuff That Scares Black People, Ranked … as they say – find the lie!
Currently Reading
I mentioned last week that I was listening to the audiobook of The Changeling, Victor LaValle, narrated by the author himself. It was so good. It’s a book featuring old time cultural myths – that might not be so mythical after all. So magical realism in an urban setting.
I also finished reading Phantom Pains (The Arcadia Project #2), Mishell Baker. I didn’t like it as much as the first book in the series, Borderline, but I ended up getting more into it as the book progressed.
This week, I’m on to Children of the Street (Darko Dawson #2), Kwei Quartey which I’m reading for the Follow the Clues Mystery Challenge. I’m following the clue “serial killer” from The Thirst, Jo Nesbo to this book.
In the slums of Accra, Ghana’s fast-moving, cosmopolitan capital, teenagers are turning up dead. Inspector Darko Dawson has seen many crimes, but this latest string of murders—in which all the young victims bear a chilling signature—is the most unsettling of his career.

Our library usually doesn’t accept books to add to their collection (they will add it if it’s in new condition and something they really need right then). They DO accept books to add to their annual book sale and then can use the money they make off the sale to buy what they really need to add to the collection. So, donating the book still helps them in a way.
