Here’s a look at some interesting things we read/ saw / thought / did this week.

- Stephany’s post on the Myth of Motivation was just what I needed to read this week. There are a few habits I want to add to my daily life but have been struggling to do so. I’m so guilty of just waiting for motivation to hit me.
- 10 Science Fiction and Fantasy Debuts to look for in the second half of 2016. This list looks good! Nearly everything on it is calling my name.
- Dan Brown is paying to have the Ritter Library in Amsterdam (a mysticism library) digitized. I think this is awesome. My most favorite library job ever was when I worked in Digitization.
- Tanya was actually the one who tuned me in to Speculative Fiction. I saw this list and noticed that there’s a new release on there from M.R. Carey! I just finished The Girl With All the Gifts (also a rec from Tanya for the Monthly Motif challenge) and loved it. So straight away I requested Carey’s new book from my library.
- This week Tanya and I gave you an insider look at how we manage Co-Blogging Using Evernote. If you’re looking for an opportunity to co-blog, Florinda has put out a Call for Collaborators. This is a easy, low stress way to dip your foot into collaboration and see if moving on to co-blogging might be right for you.
- Everyone is putting up their Bucket Lists! Check out 101 Things to Do This Summer and make your own bucket list. Tanya and I have started our Summer Activities Challenge so you can check our list for even more ideas.
- Looking for an easy and fun summer craft project? Try this Cactus Embroidery Hoop Art. It’s a little known fact that I’m actually a sewer and cross-stitcher. I learned from my mom at a very young age. I promise that this stitch project is simple enough that just about anyone can manage it.
- Have you read any of the The 10 Best Sci-Fi and Fantasy Novels of 2016 So Far? I’ve got my eye on a few already – as if my reading list isn’t big enough already!
- Here are the New York Public Library’s Staff Picks for Summer 2016.
- Amazon has put out their list of the Best of the Year So Far – and I can already see my wish list getting bigger and bigger.
- The Notables Halfway: Five Favorites is an awesome way to put together a blog post of faves. Go check it out and show some comment love.
- A rather interesting look at Why This Book Blogger Has Personal Accounts. While I don’t have separate accounts, I only link 1 social media outlet to my blog, and I don’t post anything negative or outlandish on the internet.
- What Books Taught Us – How to Survive the Apocalypse. Do you think you’ve learned any useful skills or tricks?
- I’m so jealous of the beautiful places that Lauren is Reading in the Summer.
- Horror: It’s Not All White Dudes. Let me just 2nd Ghost Summer by Tananrive Due.
- For genre fiction lovers out there, check out these 100 Must-Read Works of Speculative Fiction in Translation and Speculative Fiction That Makes You Go “Hmm”
- 23 Things All Binge-Readers Can Relate To – yep!
- This app Reach Keeps Your Savings Goals Front and Center in Chrome – is similar to the post I did on Look at Your Goals Every Day {Digital Lifehack}.
- I added a few more apps to my phone thanks to Apps and Gear for Summer (2016 Edition).

What are you up to this weekend? I flew back from Florida on Friday, and I’ve been binge watching Game of Thrones, just started reading Justin Cronin’s, The City of Mirrors (The Passage #3) which is almost 600 pages long.
