We’ve written about our love of audiobooks many times and since it’s #AudiobookMonth, we wanted to highlight 3 of our favorite audiobook narrators.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone series (Laini Taylor) | Why We Broke Up (Daniel Handler) | Pure series (Julianna Baggott)
My first introduction to this audiobook narrator was through The Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor. The story completely sucked me in, but Hvam’s narration made the characters come alive for me, so much so that I decided to listen to the other 2 books in the series on audion – no matter how long I had to wait to get my hands on them! And it was worth the wait.
The Broken Earth series (N.K. Jemisin) | The Book of Phoenix (Nnedi Okorafor)
When I listened to the audiobook of The Fifth Season, N.K. Jemisin, it was almost IMPOSSIBLE for me to believe that 1 narrator did this entire book! She made every character distinct … and there were MANY of them. She was able to communicate different genres, ages and accents very well.
Shannara Chronicles (Terry Brooks) | The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larsson) | Dune (Frank Herbert) | The Complete Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Conan Doyle)
Honestly, what hasn’t Simon Vance narrated? He’s probably my favorite narrator because he’s read so many of the books that I love. There’s something about his voice that just feels like coming home to me. Cheesy, yeah, but he’s got that voice that just really makes you sink into a good book and want to stay there forever.
This post is part of our #SummerAtoZ series … letter ‘A’. Who’s on your list of favorite audiobook narrators?
