This winter, my reading list will comprise of books for the 2016 Monthly Motif Reading Challenge which we are hosting, plus any stragglers left over from my Fall Reading List.
Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike #3), Robert Galbraith
(January Motif – Whodunnit?) This book is the lone carry-over from my Fall Reading List. The first 2 books in the Cormoran Strike series were awesome so I’m excited to finally sink deep into this one. “When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg.”
Illuminae, Amie Kaufman
(February Motif – New Releases). I first saw this book on many “Best Of 2015” lists and then read a blurb that says, “This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded.” How could I resist?!
The Time Machine, H.G. Wells
(March Motif – Take a Trip). Each year I try to read a few genre classics, and this month’s theme provides me the perfect excuse to read my first book by H.G. Wells.
Fledgling, Octavia Butler
Butler has rocked my World with her books, but it’s been about a year since I read anything by her, and that’s way too long! I’m dipping back in with this vampire novel.
The Woman in Black, Susan Hill
I raved about reading Hill’s work for the first time this year – 2 of the books in her Simon Serailler series – and I wanted to check out one of her more well known novels.
One important aspect of my reading is to make diverse choices – in authors as well as genres, and that’s part of my thinking behind my book selection for this season. Of course – I hope to read way more than 6 books. What’s the #1 book on your winter reading list?

Ooo Octavia Butler, I just started reading her book Kindred, and I’m enjoying it. I’ll have to add Fledgling to my TBR as well!
Bina @ If you can read this
The Kai Ashanti, I NEED it!! Also love Butler, but haven’t read Fledgling yet, it sounds so good. Hope you enjoy Woman in Black, it was so creepy, and then I saw the play, it was even creepier! 🙂

Love your wintry photo. I hope we don’t get too much snow this winter, but we will see.
ENJOY your winter reading choices.
I don’t know any of them.

My A Month of Faves
Paula
The Lake House by Kate Morton is the book I’m most looking forward to reading this Winter. I hope to get it for Christmas. 🙂

Oh…I read an loved The Lake House, Paula.
ENJOY when you read it.

I agree. It is so important to read diversely. For winter i am concentrating on just one book. The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky. I haven’t read any Russian literature and this would be a good start I feel.
