August #Bookishness (Online) and #BookAwards

One of the most awesome things about the book blogging community is all the events that you can participate in. Here are a few that you can join in August … and don’t forget that August 9th is National Book Lover’s Day.

August #Bookish Events – On Blogs

Aug. 1-31, 2018. ARC August. Read as many of those advanced reader copies of books that you have on your TBR pile … AND … there’ll be 2 readathons as well. The first is Aug. 4-5, 2018 and the 2nd is TBD.

Aug. 1-31, 2018. Women in Translation Month. Celebrate by posting on your blog and social media using #WITMonth

Aug. 1-31, 2018. August Read-Along with Rikki & Michaela | Circe. Let’s read together … no pressure!

Aug. 6-13, 2018. The Make Me Read It ReadaThon. This readathon allows your friends and audience to vote for what you’ll be reading.

Aug. 20-26, 2018. Bout of Books. A week-long read-a-thon. There are challenges and more – it’s a very community oriented event, so sign up and read!

Ongoing …

May 28 – Sep. 5, 2018. Big Book Summer Reading Challenge. How many 400+ page books can you read from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I look forward to this challenge every year!

Jun. 1 – Sep. 3, 2018. 20 Books of Summer. You can participate in this challenge by choosing your own – 10, 15 or 20 – books to read this summer. Make a list, and link back to the original post. Then hashtag the hell out of your progress #20booksofsummer.

Jun. 22 – Sep. 22, 2018. #SummerSoLit Book Bingo Challenge 2018. The #SummerSoLit challenge takes the form of a bingo board. The baseline goal is to read a book for two single lines vertically, horizontally, or diagonally on the board. On the last day of the reading challenge come back to your host page to enter your completed books.

On YouTube

July 30 – Aug. 5, 2018. BookTubeaThon (Youtube). A week long readathon with challenges . The goal of the week is to read as many hours as you can. Plus there’s challenges on on Youtube, Twitter and Instagram.
