I read Death Turns A Trick by Julie Smith. If I recall correctly it won a Poe award in mystery. Interesting read, she’s a Jewish feminist lawyer who helps out a client that runs a bordello and after nearly getting busted, goes home to find a dead prostitute in her house. It wasn’t a long book. Just seemed to take me a while to read it. Looking for suggestions on any other books I may be able to download for cheap or free :3 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1960094326

      Sounds like an interesting book!

  6. I read The Girl of Ink and Stars by Kiran Millwood Hargrave as it won the Waterstones Children’s book prize this year. One of my all time favorite books, Half Bad by Sally Green, was also a category winner for this prize back in 2015 so I believe the judges make good choices! It was a close one though as I was tempted by Glorious Heresies from last years Baileys’ Women’s prize 🙂

I should have read a middle grade or children’s book as part of this month too! Great idea.

  7. My book was Trader by Charles de Lint. Sure, the award was given out in 1998, but the book was wonderful and I loved it!
