I Love You, I Love You Not [Say It With These Books]

We had some fun coming up with books we would give to someone if we were trying to tell them whether we liked them or not.

💖 I like you a lot … and we might end up together.

Gemina, Amie Kaufman

You know the chemistry is there with the person you give this book to- you’re just waiting for them to see it too. Sometimes all it takes is saving the human race together for you to recognize each others potential.

Hanna is the station captain’s pampered daughter; Nik the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. When an elite BeiTech strike team invades the station, Hanna and Nik are thrown together to defend their home.

💕 You are my everything …

The Raven King, Maggie Stiefvater

Woah. Serious chemistry here and in some very unexpected ways. If someone gives you this book you know they’re the one and they’ll never leave you stranded.

All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

💘 I don’t like you at all …

Zombie, Joyce Carol Oates

If you get this book – the person who gave it to you is just not that into you. In fact – they probably find you really annoying and wishes you would just leave them alone! They also might be tempted to do something terrible to you – just to get you to back off.

Meet Quentin P., an unbelievably terrifying sexual psychopath and killer.

Boy21, Matthew Quick

💛 Let’s just be friends … Yeah – you guys are just bros. Move on because a romantic relationship is not in the cards. The good news is – your intended likes you a lot – just not in “that way.”

Finley. He lives in gray, broken Bellmont, a town ruled by the Irish Mob, drugs, violence, and racially charged rivalries. At home, he takes care of his disabled grandfather, and at school he’s called “White Rabbit”, the only white kid on the varsity basketball team. Russ has just moved to the neighborhood. A former teen basketball phenom from a privileged home, his life has been turned upside down by tragedy. Cut off from everyone he knows, he now answers only to the name Boy21 and has an unusual obsession with outer space.

As their final year of high school brings these two boys together, “Boy21” may turn out to be the answer they both need.

What a cool post! Lovely for Valentine’s Day!

  2. If Gemina is anything like Illuminae, I totally want to read that one. I’m also curious about the Maggie Stiefvater books. I haven’t read this series yet either. Great list!
