January 2017 #BookBlogger Events

One of the most awesome things about the book blogging community is all the events that you can participate in. Here are a few #bookblogger hosted events that you can join in January.

January #BookBlogger Events

Dec. 15 – Jan. 31, 2016. #NewYearBooks Reading Resolution Challenge. Start the year off right by reading books that support your goals, resolutions, and projects. Choose 1-4 books that will stimulate action on your goals. They can all support the same resolution or help with four different projects.

Jan. 1-15, 2017. Dumbledore’s Army Readathon. #DAReadAThon is has 7 categories of spells based on Harry Potter. Pick a diverse book you feel qualifies for each category and read, read, read.

Jan. 2-8, 2017. Bout of Books 18 ReadaThon. A week long read-a-thon with challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize.

Jan. 14-15, 2017. Winter Bloggiesta. Dedicate some time to working on your blog.

Jan. 16-29, 2017. A Winter’s Respite Read-a-Thon. A week of relaxed reading during which we can personally challenge ourselves and whittle away those ever looming TBR piles/shelves/libraries. So, no pressure…EVER! Enjoy!

Jan. 21-22, 2017. #24in48 Readthon. Beginning at 12:01am on Saturday morning and running through 11:59pm on Sunday night, participants read for 24 hours out of that 48 hour period. You can split that up however you’d like

Jan. 22-29, 2017. DiverseAThon. Readathon celebrating diverse voices & stories.

Jan – Feb., 2017. 6 Books to Help Understand Trump’s Win … The first 2 months of the year will be a Readalong of The Unwinding, George Parker.


Continued from last month …

Dec. 1 – Jan. 31. The 2017 Sci-Fi Experience. Write posts about science fiction related books you are reading, television shows or films you are watching, games you are playing or science fiction art you are appreciating, and link to them on the Review Site.

Dec. 1 – Feb. 28. Winter 2016/2017 Bookish Bingo. The object is to get as many BINGOs as possible (five across, up and down, or diagonal). One square per book.

Nov. 1, 2016 – Jan. 31, 2017. The Semi-Charmed Winter 2015 Book Challenge. Read a book (or 2) for each of the challenges and rack up the points. Can you finish all the challenges?

Nov. 25 – Jan. 7, 2017. Whole Latte Books. Read as little or as many books as you want. #WholeLatteXMas

    So far I am only participatigang in two challenges- your Monthly Motif and. The British Book Challenge. But this list you compiled is tempting me to join in on more!

  4. I just updated the Travel the World in Books Reading Challenge page today. I still have to write up our January event to read a wintery read from around the world but I will get it done soon!

    I don’t really join a lot of reading challenges because I kind of want to do my own thing, you know? I’m a bit of a mood reader. But I’m really excited for the #DAReadathon! Aimee organises such great events 😀 Are you doing any of them?
