Who the heck celebrates being busy is out of their minds! I’ve done nothing but work, sleep, travel, repeat for the last few weeks, and the stress is driving me off the deep end. Since my life is so messy (with work) right now, and it’s Mother’s Day weekend – I thought I would indulge in an impromptu Messy Reading Readathon. From 8PM Saturday – 8PM Sunday, I’m all about “messy books” – the weird, the crazy, the supernatural, paranormal, impossible endings … messy!

On my Messy Reading list

The Cipher, Kathe Koja

I started The Cipher, in March when I was doing a #Weirdathon Reading Weekend. It’s about a video-store clerk who has a weeping hole in his hand – which he thinks has something to do with the large hole / black void in the storage room. It’s definitely weird, and kind of slow, but I’m already about half-way through and determined to finish.

The next 2 books are on my Spring Reading List.

Fledgling, Octavia Butler

Butler has rocked my World with her books, but it’s been about a year since I read anything by her, and that’s way too long! I’m dipping back in with this vampire novel. the story of an apparently young, amnesiac girl whose alarmingly inhuman needs and abilities lead her to a startling conclusion: She is in fact a genetically modified, 53-year-old vampire. is the story of an apparently young, amnesiac girl whose alarmingly inhuman needs and abilities lead her to a startling conclusion: She is in fact a genetically modified, 53-year-old vampire.

The Handmaid’s Tale, Margaret Atwood

This was supposed to be my April read the 2016 Monthly Motif Reading Challenge and I’ve read a few pages which was enough to let me know that I’ll be up late tonight reading it until I fall asleep.

So, signing off until Monday. What are you reading this weekend?

  1. What a great idea! I hope you enjoyed your mini readathon. I. too, am feeling so overwhelmed lately. Just can’t seem to catch up in any area of my life – writing, blogging, home stuff, etc. sigh I think you have the idea – reading is the solution!

The Handmaid’s Tale is on my TBR list for this year, too – can’t believe I’ve never read it yet!

Hope you ended up having a good weekend & a nice Mother’s Day!
