November #BookishEvents Online

One of the most awesome things about the book blogging community is all the events that you can participate in. Here are a few that you can join in November.

NonFiction November

Oct. 28 – Dec. 1. NonFiction November is a month dedicated to celebrating nonfiction. Every Monday, one of the hosts will post a discussion question and a link-up for sharing your responses, plus your non-fiction reviews. Every Friday, there will be a round-up post sharing highlights from your posts that week. The topics are Your Year in Nonfiction, Book Pairing: pair up a nonfiction book with a fiction title, Be The Expert / Ask the Expert / Become the Expert, Nonfiction Favorites and New to My TBR. You can also participate on Instagram and Litsy using the hashtag #NonficNov

Novellas in November

Nov. 1-30. There seems to be no particular host anymore for Novellas in November, but a brief history can be found at Reading in Bed – but while there’s no official host – there’s an active community of reading posting on blogs and Instrageam using #NovNov and #NovellasinNovember

SciFiMonth

Nov. 1-31. SciFiMonth. Grab a book or chuck on a movie – reviews and discussions, recommendations and strong opinions – all are welcome! There’s also daily prompts – use as a photo challenge or blog prompts – take your pick, plus 2 readalongs! Use #SciFiMonth hashtag and follow @SciFiMonth on Twitter for all the latest updates.

Margaret Atwood Reading Month

Nov. 1-30. Margaret Atwood Reading Month. Just read one thing by Margaret Atwood or one hundred things (well, poems add up). Something. Anything. Printed page or audiobook: whatever tickles your fancy. Post about it where you love to bookchat and then leave your link at the host’s site. They (Buried in Print and Consumed by Ink) will be focusing on on the worlds of The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments.

Ho-Ho-Ho ReadaThon

Nov. 8-17. Ho Ho Ho Readathon. Read or listen to as many Holiday or Winter themed books as you can from any genre – so gather up your favorite cocoa, comfort foods, holiday music and books and join in the fun. During the event, you can participate in challenges and win. So sign up with the host, and then start tweet your progress using #HoHoHoRAT.

Hi Tanya! Thanks so much for including our #MARM event on your list! I’ll also be posting something for Novellas in November sometime this month, and have been reading the Scotiabank Giller books as a member of the Giller Shadow Jury. November is such a great reading month!
