The 3 Audiobooks I Got With My Free Audible Credits

Way back in July, I signed up for a 3 month free trial of Audible as mentioned in this post. Audible is an audiobook subscription service where for you pay a monthly subscription fee which entitles you to download audiobooks. I got a free credit each month for 3 months, and these are the books I chose to listen to.

A Head Full of Ghosts, Paul Tremblay (Narrated by Joy Osmanski)

This was the first book I’ve read by this author, and I must say, at first I thought I made a mistake using my precious free credit on this! But, the way the story is told is unique and I’m glad I listened to the audiobook as the narrator did an EXCELLENT job in defining the different sections by changing up her voice to match the different stages of youth of the main character. Sometimes the book dragged a little but I was interested enough to make it through the end – and boy was it worth it!

The lives of the Barretts, a normal suburban New England family, are torn apart when fourteen-year-old Marjorie begins to display signs of acute schizophrenia.

A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes #2), Sabaa Tahir (Narrated by Katharine McEwan , Fiona Hardingham , Steve West)

Loved it! The audiobook narrators blew me away by dropping me right in the story and keeping me there until the very end. The 2st book in the series was phenomenal, and this one is just as good. The multiple POVs were very different and it brought the story to life to see different perspectives of the same event. Truly one that is improved by listening to the audiobook.

Elias and Laia are running for their lives. After the events of the Fourth Trial, Martial soldiers hunt the two fugitives as they flee the city of Serra and undertake a perilous journey through the heart of the Empire.

Truly Madly Guilty, Liane Moriarty (Narrated by Carolyn Lee)

The audiobook narrator did a phenomenal job and I was glad that I got the audiobook version. The story itself was a bit weak, and while the characters were certainly interesting, there were quite a few times I wished the story would hurry along and we could get to the juicy details. From the books I’ve read by this author I would say The Husband’s Secret is my favorite, closely followed by Big Litte Lies, and then Truly Madly Guilty.

Six responsible adults. Three cute kids. One small dog. It’s just a normal weekend. What could possibly go wrong?

I don’t regret any of my choices! If you had a free credit to Audible – which book would you choose?
