10 Things This Week

Here’s a look at some interesting things I read/ saw / thought / did this week.

Bookish

❉ Can you think of A Genre You’re Afraid Of? It’s probably sad books (yeah, I know that’s not a genre). If there is even the slightest hint that a book is going to make me cry (like The Fault in the Stars), I won’t read it. I can’t handle ALL the SAD feels! And you can add to that books about slavery too. They make my heart cry and bleed at the same time!

❉ Thanks to Halfway There: The Best Books of 2017…So Far my reading list got even more massive! Can you believe Mad Black Wheel, Josh Mallerman, was actually available at my library (audiobook) – I’m listening to it now!

7 Books Being Made Into TV Series This Summer and ❉ 22 Film Adaptations Hitting Theaters in Late 2017 … How will I ever keep up with all the reading and tv watching I need to do?!

Book to Movies

What Happens When You Stop Writing Negative Book Reviews … “you become more discerning about the books you read” – sounds about right.

❉ It was really interesting to read Ways to Shelve Your Books on Goodreads. How do you use shelves? I’m a simple gal and just have audiobooks, eBooks, novella and quit early.

❉ What do you think about Amazon Charts: A Modern Reimagining of the Bestseller List?

Blogging

❉ Yes to Commenting: Sometimes Less Is More! I love all comments – whether they are long or a short – “Loved it!”

❉ Have you tried any of these 5 Small Blog Changes with Big Results on your blog? I’m trying to be more intentional about making sure the feature image text is very relational to the blog post title.

  1. Thanks for this list! I’m going to go check out what books are going to be made into series. 🙂

  2. I’m excited to get to Mad Black Wheel so I’m hoping my library gets a copy soon. I saw a review for a novella he wrote “The House at the Bottom of the Lake” which I plan on grabbing from Amazon soon.

  3. The film adaptions from book link was super helpful to me. I just added several books to my library list and Goodreads so I can have it read before the movie is released. Thanks!
