  1. […] read a book for each of them already – and it’s not even the 15th yet. For the July Monthly Motif “Around or Out of This World”, I read The Troop, Nick Cutter – straight up gory […]

I read “The German House” by Annette Hess, which is set in Frankfurt, Germany & in translation by a German author. It was a fascinating story of the Frankfurt Auschwitz trials in the early 1960’s & showed how the next generation of German citizens viewed the war & how the older generation wanted to just forget. Very good. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3429665070

For this month, I read “The Binding” by Bridget Collins. The book is set in an anachronistic period of England & Collins herself is from England as well. You can click on this link to check out my review! -> https://suojurelife.home.blog/2020/07/28/the-binding-a-review/

  4. Finished this one on July 31st (just in time!)–and just got the review up today. Death in Berlin by M. M. Kaye

I took too long of a break from reading at the beginning of the month but I still managed to finish When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park about the Japanese occupation of Korea. Loved it!!

  6. Scarlett says:

I read The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James. It takes place in space, on the way to another planet, and the author is from another country than me! I worked really hard to find a book that checked as many boxes as possible on this challenge, plus I really liked it!!
