#AMonthofFaves – These are a Few of Our Favorite Things [2021]

We’ve dubbed December #AMonthofFaves and today we’re sharing some of our favorite things bought / used in 2021.

For the Home

ONE+ As much as I try to limit how much “stuff” we have – it’s a battle I’m losing. So if you too need more storage for your “stuff” look no further than these chic Sterlite Stackable Drawers. I keep my workout clothes in them (sports bras, tank tops, cycling shorts), some seasonal clothes (like bathing suits) and socks in mine.

TWO+ And staying with keep stuff organized – this Mainstays 4 Tier 24 Pair Shoe Rack also helped with adding in more shoe storage. It’s sturdy and relatively simple to put together.

THREE+ Flies were a thing this summer! They got in the house and that drives me crazy. We got a bunch of these Handheld Bug Zapper Rackets and they work really well. Of course, you have to catch the little sh$ts first – but this will zap them dead.

FOUR+ Our outdoor (Christmas) lights are on this Black + Decker Outdoor Timer which is a simple set it and forget it. To me, this is better than having to deal with an app or a remote.

FITNESS

Zwift Ride

FIVE+ This year I really got into cycling – especially at the beginning of the year thanks to indoor cycling on Zwift. I used my existing bicycle (a 10 year old Cannondale CAAD-8) along with a smart trainer – Wahoo Kickr SNAP – but what I really want to highlight is the Specialized Padded Bike Shorts. These will hold everything in place and I haven’t experienced chafing or saddle sores with them – and they don’t roll up.

SIX+ I had to be schooled by my brother about the type of water bottle needed when cycling outside. One that you can just squeeze the water into your mouth. no caps to unscrew or anything like that. The Polar Squeeze Water Bottle not only works like a charm but also keeps cold water cold for hours.

SEVEN+ For running I am so GLAD that I recently discovered the high rise 10″ in-seam CALIA by Carrie Underwood Essential High Rise Bike Shorts. I like a longer length shorts – I have long legs and then with the high rise waist – these bike shorts are so flattering. I prefer to run in tights / bike shorts so I don’t chafe and these are the most awesome I’ve found.

OTHER APPAREL

EIGHT+ Listen – on me, gloves just trap the cold! It’s worse when I’m running and finally someone told me that mittens aren’t just for kids. My favorite pair right now is the TrailHeads Touchscreen Quilted Running Mittens. They are Fleece lined on the inside and extend past your wrist. Buy it just slightly larger than you might need so you can ball your hands into a fist when needed. I love them so hard I bought my dad a pair – he walks 1-2 hours 5 days a week – even in the Winter!

NINE+ I just bought 2 of these puff sleeve sweaters from Amazon (because of this review). I don’t usually buy clothes from Amazon, but these blouses are a winner! Buy for yourself and every female in your life.

TRAVEL

TEN+ I am a packing cube convert. After having thought they were utter nonsense when people were going on and on about them, I am now eating my words. It makes things so much more organized to have them compartmentalized. Also – a travel tip – always carry an extra bag for dirty clothes – to keep them separate from the clean.

A short-sleeved sweater sounds perfect for Southern California, and it’s cute too. Thanks for the reminder about packing cubes. And those under sink shelves would definitely come in handy. Great list!

I finally decided to try packing cubes this year too and just love them! I added that outdoor timer and those mittens to my Amazon cart; I have a horrible time keeping my hands warm when I’m outside.

  3. I bought packing cubes for the first time this year too. Game changer. I’m a convert now!
