Books From the 2021 ‘Best of the Year’ Lists We Want to Read

How do you typically choose books you want to read? For me, recommendations can come from many different places – friends, fellow book bloggers and lovers, Instagram … and all those “Best of the Best Books” lists that show up on the internet towards the end of the year. Here’s a few books that made it to my reading pile from the “Best Books” list.

After reading and loving, Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo I knew I had to check out Reid’s latest release. I meant to read this last year but it just slipped through the cracks. I’ve heard that it’s excellent so it’s high priority this year.

Time Magazine’s 100 Best Books of 2021

I first saw this on the list of Goodreads Awards nominees last year and remembered that I’d seen several readers on Instagram write great reviews of it recently. After reading the premise I quickly requested it from my library. The hold line is long though so I’ll have to wait a while to read it.

NPR’s Best Books of 2021- Comics and Graphic Novels

I love any excuse to read another graphic novel these days. This one is getting some major buzz so I’d like to see what all the fuss is about. Greek mythology reimagined is always entertaining.

I’ve talked before about my love for the middle grade series, Greenglass House. I’d already had this on my TBR but imagine my surprise and delight when I saw that it was on NPR’s list!

I bought myself a copy of this book as a late Christmas present after seeing the praise it was getting last year. I’ve heard the audiobook is fantastic too. I cannot wait to fall into this.

Barnes and Nobles’ Best Books of the Year 2021

Another book I purchased for myself last year. After reading and adoring The House in the Cerulean Sea, I knew I had to read this one too. I’m ready for ALL the emotions.
