#BreakfastBowl Cinnamon Chia Oatmeal Bowl Topped with Apples, Strawberries and Chia Seeds

Cinnamon Oatmeal Bowl

I’ve been having oatmeal for breakfast almost everyday this winter and let me tell you – I’ve been loving it! Oatmeal itself is not really sexy – but this little powerhouse of fiber is so easy to jazz up and make gorgeous with toppings – so why not! Just take a look at this Cinnamon Oatmeal Bowl Topped with Apples, Strawberries and Chia Seeds.

How to Make Oatmeal

– on the stovetop. That’s how I do it – using Quaker Old Fashioned Oats.

Ingredients

+ 1.5c Water

+ 1c Oats

+ 1Tbsp Cinnamon

+ 1Tbsp Chia Seeds

Add water and oatmeal to a put on the stove set at medium heat. Bring it to a boil slowly. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and stir in the cinnamon. Then add chia seeds and stir that in too. I don’t add sweeteners anymore since we usually use a banana as a topping, but if you do need a little sweetness – add it now.

I don’t use exact measurements anymore – if it’s too thick for your liking – add more water; if it’s too runny – add more oatmeal … so it’s pretty much foolproof.

Toppings

+ 1-2 Strawberries

+ 1 Apple

+ 1tsp Chia Seeds

For this oatmeal spread, I topped with a sliced apple, sliced strawberries and then added some more chia seeds on top.

With a gorgeous looking bowl, we’re getting 1-2 servings of fruit, plus the nutritional benefits of the add-ins – cinnamon and chia seeds.

What do you typically eat for breakfast? Do you like oatmeal? How do you make it – on the stove or in the microwave?
