The theme for this month’s 2016 Monthly Motif Reading Challenge is Things That Go Bump In The Night. Horror books, paranormal creeptastic stories, murder mysteries- it’s up to you!

Kim – I’m going the paranormal route with this one and finishing the last book in The Raven Cycle series – The Raven King, Maggie Stiefvater. I am so in love with these books and I can’t wait to see how everything plays out in the end.

For years, Gansey has been on a quest to find a lost king. One by one, he’s drawn others into this quest: Ronan, who steals from dreams; Adam, whose life is no longer his own; Noah, whose life is no longer a lie; and Blue, who loves Gansey… and is certain she is destined to kill him. Now the endgame has begun.

Tanya – Creepy and mysterious books are my favorite type of books to read. Since I haven’t read any short-story collections yet this year, I’m picking Nightmares: A New Decade of Modern Horror, Ellen Datlow.

Nightmares (Book) by Ellen Datlow

Unlucky thieves invade a house where Home Alone seems like a playground romp. An antique bookseller and a mob enforcer join forces to retrieve the Atlas of Hell. Postapocalyptic survivors cannot decide which is worse: demon women haunting the skies or maddened extremists patrolling the earth.

Paranormal, Horror, or Mystery? What’s your pick this month?
