One of the most awesome things about the book blogging community is all the events that you can participate in. Here are a few that you can join in September

September #BookBlogger Events

Sep. 1 – Oct. 31. R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril XII #ripxii. Let’s share our love of books or movies that could be classified as Mystery, Suspense, Thriller, Dark Fantasy, Gothic, Horror, or Supernatural.

Sep. 11-24. Tackle Your TBR Read-a-Thon. The goal is to diminish our to-read pile of books.

Sep. 21-24. Bloggiesta. Work on your blog, work with others, and get engaged in the book blogging community. There will be mini-challenges and twitter chats.

Sep. 24 – 30. Banned Books Week. This year, ALA is introducing the #RebelReader Twitter Tournament where readers are encourage to complete to post on Twitter. Bloggers also usually organize their own celebration, and I’ll update as I find more events.

Aug. 13 – Sep. 10. The Reading Quest. This is a fun reading challenge filled with quests and points.

May 26 – Sep. 4. 2017 Big Book Summer Reading Challenge. How many 400+ page books can you read from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I look forward to this challenge every year!

Jun. 1 – Sep. 3. 20 Books of Summer. You can participate in this challenge by choosing your own – 10, 15 or 20 – books to read this summer. Make a list, and link back to the original post. Then hashtag the hell out of your progress #20booksofsummer.

Jun. 3- Sep. 3. – Summer Reading Challenge. There are 10 categories + a bonus one. Do as many as you can.

Jun. 20 – Sep. 21. Sci-Fi Summer Reading. Read any book of at least 100 pages that is classified as Science Fiction, including any Sci-Fi subgenres.


Major Book Awards in September

Sep. 13, 2017. Man Booker Prize Shortlist. Winners will be announced Oct. 17, 2017.
National Book Awards Longlist. Finalists will be announced Oct. 4, 2017.
