4 New Books This Year from Our (F)ave Authors [Additions to Our Reading List]

Fave Author New Books

Although I love exploring new authors and book recommendations, I also keep an eye out for new books coming out by my favorite authors. Here are a few that I’ve heard of recently, and added to my reading list.

Gwendy’s Button Box, Stephen King and Richard Chizmar. Release date: May 2017. If Stephen King writes on a paper napkin, I’ll read it. And in this case, I love that he’s gone back to his wrote and written a story set in Maine, and one that’s just a little creepy.

The Thirst (Harry Hole #11), Jo Nesbo. Release date: May 2017. Harry Hole is one of my favorite bookish detectives and I’ve listened to every book in the series on audio, and plan on continuing the trend with this one. The books in this series have intricate, well developed mysteries and are really thrilling.

Akata Warrior (Akata Witch #2), Nnedi Okorafor. Oct. 2017. I LOVED Akata Witch, and honestly, it was great as a stand-alone … so I don’t know how I feel about a sequel coming out 6 years later. But I’m going to trust Okorafor, because she hasn’t steered me wrong with any of the books I’ve read by her. And that cover is just gorgeous!

A year ago, Sunny Nwazue, an American-born girl Nigerian girl, was inducted into the secret Leopard Society. Now, stronger, feistier, and a bit older, Sunny is studying with her mentor Sugar Cream and struggling to unlock the secrets in her strange Nsibidi book.

Sleeping Beauties. Stephen King and Owen King. Sept. 2017. Yes – another book by King! This one sounds like a real thriller – and quite a time investment at 720 pages. But I don’t care … it’s Stephen King. I’ve read all his books, and plan to re-read a few of the older ones this year also.
