#AMonthofFaves The Cook It, Bake It, Drink It or Eat It Edition

The holidays bring the best food, don’t they? And the goodies! Don’t even get me started on all the sweet treats that I love at Christmas time!

EAT. Every December I set out a little bowl of spice drops. I’m not much of a candy person but I just love these- especially at Christmas time!

BAKE. When we bake cookies around here, I almost always bake my favorite Outrageous Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. But in December, I like to shake things up a bit with the baking. This year we baked these Chocolate Kiss Cookies and the boys had fun with the job of putting the Hershey’s kisses in the middle.

DRINK. I love me a pumpkin spice latte, don’t get me wrong, but I can’t resist all the ridiculous flavors that Starbucks comes out with at Christmas time. Lately I’ve been sipping on the Creme Brulee Latte. I found this recipe the other day and now I think I might try making my own at home!

COOK. It’s all about the soups this time of year. My personal favorite is just a simple broccoli cheese but we also love to make this Vegetarian Chili and this Corn Chowder and they both get paired with corn bread.

For all those that love spiced gumdrops we have a favorite holiday cookie recipe
Basically just make your sugar cookie dough ( or use the store bought one).

Chop up your gumdrops and roll them in sugar to keep from sticking to each other. Also dip your scissors in warm water to keep from humming them up too much

Press the chopped pieces of spice drops into your sugar cookie or mix into dough and bake like a normal sugar cookie.
You get a yummy chewy sugar cookie that are pretty to put on a tray

Since I have so many diet restrictions now, I take a lot of comfort in a cup of hot cocoa.

Is there a link up for today’s topic?

I’m not much of a sweets person, but I do like the chocolate kiss cookies where the cookies are peanut butter cookies (I love Reese’s peanut butter cups).
