8 Phenomenal Book Covers From Books Read This Year #AMonthofFaves2016

We agree that you can’t really judge a book by it’s cover, but you can’t deny that a really good cover will make you pick up the book in the first place. Here are some of our favorites…Kim – I really had to think about this one because so many of my books were in audio form this year.

My absolute favorite cover this year was The Supernatural Enhancements, Edgar Cantero. The gates leading to the creepy house with that eye peering over the top are just completely weird and intriguing. Plus, this book turned out to be one of my favorites of the year.

Uprooted, Naomi Novak came in a very close second. I just love the flowing script font they used. I really like the windows bordering Agnieszka and her rose. Each one gives a tiny hint as to what you’ll find inside.

Tanya – After I choose my favorite book covers, I always ask myself, “Was the book as good as the cover?”

419, Will Ferguson was a book I was drawn to first because of that mysterious looking woman on the cover. I do think the cover is better than the book – which rambled on sometimes – but I did still like it.

Patient Zero (Joe Ledger #1), Jonathan Maberry and Fledgeling, Octavia Butler – Both covers captured the essence of the book – which was fast and furious, non-stop action. I’d say the books were definitely as good as the covers.

Favorite Book Covers 2016

The Devourers, Indra Das has a gorgeous illustrated cover, but i don’t think the book loved up to it’s beauty. It’s one of those books that definitely memorable, but after reading it, I still can’t decide whether I liked it or not.

Fave Book Covers 2016

I love the snowy , blurry cover of The Widow, Fiona Barton and I think the book did the cover justice.

Certain Dark Things, Silvia Moreno-Garcia – This book has my favorite book cover of all the books I read in 2016. I like the combination of the illustration with the profile. The book was just as intense as it seems from the cover.

  1. The Supernatural Enhancements reminds me of an old Twilight Zone episode. Sounds like that fits the book well! The cover for Fledgling definitely has me intrigued!!

Exactly! I think that’s why I was attracted to it. I used to love Twilight Zone.

  2. Those are definitely attention-getting covers.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks so much for another fun December.
