February #BookBlogging Events [The 2018 Edition]

One of the most awesome things about the book blogging community is all the events that you can participate in. Here are a few that you can join in February.

February #BookBlogging Events

Feb. 1 – 11, 2018. The Persephone ReadaThon. The goal is simply to enjoy reading and discussing all things Persephone Books. Persephone Books are a London based independent publisher and bookseller, who specialize in neglected books by (mostly) women writers from (mainly) the mid-twentieth century.

Feb. 4, 2018. 2018 Big Game’s On Read-a-thon! No rules, no guidelines, just read. No start/end times, just read at your leisure.ini-challenges will be created to break up your reading time. Participating in these challenges is not mandatory, but you will be eligible for a number of great prizes!

Continued from last month …

Dec.1 – Feb. 28, 2018Bookish Bingo: Winter 2017-18. There’s a new bingo card with 24 different categories. The object of the game is to get as many bingos as possible – and also to possibly expand your reading horizons. The only real rules are that you can only have one square per book, so no doubling up on challenges, and you can only count one DNF.

I didn’t find many events this month, so if you know of any, please share in the comments below.

Major Book Awards in February

Feb. 22, 2018. The Bram Stoker Award Finalists. A recognition presented annually by the Horror Writers Association for “superior achievement” in dark fantasy and horror writing. This year’s preliminary ballot has already been announced.

Feb. 11, 2018. The Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction and Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) Book Awards. These awards recognize the best fiction and nonfiction books for adult and young adult readers.

February. The Nebula Awards Nominees. The awards for Science Fiction and fantasy, are given each year for various categories including best novel, novella, novelette, short story along with the Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy.
