10 Things This Month [The Fall-o-Ween Edition]

We have a brand new look here at Girlxoxo.com. Kim and I have not been a bit absent online for most of this year, but things have calmed down and we want to re-commit to this space – so we have a new look and fresh ideas! What do you think of it? We’re still working on a few things – so give us some feedback. In the meantime – here’s 10 things that we’ve been thinking about, doing, reading or feeling this month.

10 Things

ONE+ We’re crushing hard here at GXO on Halloween and Fall! On the blog, we’ve declared October #WickedGoodReads Month which means we’re basically having a love-fest for books with wicked people & creatures, dangerous places & things. We’ve already shared our Murder, Monsters and Madness Reading List and Books Where Strange Things Have Happened – and there’s a lot more to come.

TWO+ We’re not the only ones who like some dark and spooky reads this season. Readers Imbibing Peril runs from Sep. 1 – Oct. 31st. Read and watch some spooky shit – then link up on their site or on the ‘gram using #ripiv. Also, Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon is October 26th – it’s one of the largest bookish events online, so you might need these 8 Helpful Readathon Hacks.

THREE+ Last week was Horror Week on Goodreads. Be sure to check out Meet the Rising Stars of Horror and 22 New and Upcoming Horror Books to Keep You Up at Night for some awesome reading recommendations.

FOUR+ I’m also going to be checking out some of these Haunting New Television Series to get me in the mood proper.

FIVE+ Do you decorate for Halloween? I do and and this year’s inspired came from Halloween Mantel Decorating with Bats and Crows and Classic Black Halloween Mantel Decor to use black creepy cloth from The Dollar Store as the theme – very budget friendly. Sneak peak below.

SIX+ A favorites post for October -> What to read and watch via author Stephen Graham Jones.

SEVEN+  Here’s The Best and Biggest TV Shows to Watch This Fall … I’m most excited about Nancy Drew … they better come correct with that adaptation – I’m so scared it’s going to be cheesy!

EIGHT+ Fall is usually when I have the time to try out new things. Most most recent bookmarks have been 30 Useful Amazon Products Our Readers Can’t Stop Buying—Starting at Just $7 and What Patrisse Cullors Can’t Live Without – founder of Black Live Matter … we’re on the same page with our love for Fledgling, Octavia Butler (I love the entire series – What Celebrities Can’t Live Without).

NINE+ Does what you eat change seasonally? Mine sure does and I’m looking forward to trying a few of the recipes from 50 Fabulous Fall Recipes.

TEN_+And although I’m firmly #TeamSummer, I’ve really come to love and appreciate the Autumn season …so here’s to #ILoveFall 10 Ways to Fully Embrace the Season. What are some of your favorite ways things about Fall?
