#AYearofFaves [The 2021 Favorite Things Edition]

We’ve been sharing our favorites all year long and it’s been a blast! It’s helped make me stop and appreciate ALL the things whether useful or frivolous or just plain fun. Here’s 16 of the things we mentioned loving this year.

These Are a Few of Our Favorite Things

Games

ONE+ We’ve playing card and board games a lot this year. Some of our favorites are Azul, Rummikub and Munchkin Deluxe. For cards, we’ve been playing a version of Rummy card game called Kalooki and Uno – a classic that just never gets old.

TWO+ I’m so glad I discovered Tovolo Lid Lifters which is so simple and cute and an effective solution to prevent boil-over when making pasta, rice or hard-boiled eggs for example.

THREE+ We started using these Sun Squad Plastic Tumblers from Target over the summer when we go hard for freshly made lemonade. Love the vibrant colors of this line.

FOUR+ I have a bit of an obsession with mugs, and added these Pumpkin Spice Camp Mug for Fall hot drinks.

FIVE+ Speaking of hot drinks, you know I love tea and I shared some of my faves in Winter CozyBrew La La Organic Moroccan Mint Green Tea, Celestial Seasoning Peppermint Herbal Tea and Good Earth Sweet & Spicy Tea. I can’t wait to share more with you in the next few months!

SIX+ I’ve had the Proform 2000 Treadmill for more than a year now, but I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it before. If you’re in the market for a treadmill, this is a good one. We don’t use even half the features, but we’ve been happy with it.

SEVEN+ We upgraded to a smart doorbell this year and have been more than happy with the Eufy 2K Battery Powered Doorbell. No wiring needed and no subscription fees or anything. It’s been 6 months and we haven’t had to charge it yet. We also have the Eufy Camera 2C Pro and it’s been solid.

EIGHT+ Look, I know this is a small thing but Gain Scent Duet Wildflower and Waterfall Fireworks Scent Booster is the magic for teenage boy funk! I love it so hard. And we switched to using Homstek Wool Balls instead of dryer sheets and it’s been great.

Nivea and Body Shop Lip Butter

NINE+– I haven’t share much of the beauty products I’ve been using mainly because if I like something I stick with it, but The Body Shop’s Mango Lip Butter is a MUST for chapped lips.

TEN+ My MUST have for winter skin is Nivea Cocoa Butter Body Cream. If you get super dry in the winter like I do, this is the thing. One tub sits on my bedside table and one tub stays in the bathroom.

KIM

ELEVEN+ Candles from DW Home . My favorite is the White Thyme Basil. I think I’ve gone through about five of those. I’ve tried several other scents and have loved them all. I use this chevron candle holder and I love it.

TWELVE+ Tazo Lemon Loaf Tea – This is by far my most favorite tea I’ve ever tasted. I love it so much on these wintery, cold nights.

THIRTEEN+ Fa La La Llama Mug and My Holidays Are Booked Mug – I’m a sucker for fun mugs at the holidays and had to pick these new ones up.

FOURTEEN+ This Deluxe Utility Tote – I stuff the side pockets with hand sanitizer, sun screen, and water bottles and throw the boys lunch boxes and change of the clothes in the middle zip up pouch. During the winter I pack it with gloves, scarves, and hats and keep in the back of my car for when we head out on winter adventures.

FIFTEEN+ Visit Tatooine tank top – I’ve worn the heck out of it already. It makes my Star Wars loving heart happy.

SIXTEEN+ Six of Crows Wristlet – I cannot tell you how much I adore this cute wristlet I bought off of Etsy. The quality is amazing and there are additional pockets on the inside!

We’d love to hear your recommendations – share any of your favorite purchases this year! And check out our Favorites section to see everything we’ve been recommending.

We love rummy and will have to look for that game you mentioned, Tanya. Thanks for the recommendation.

As for purchases here, probably the best one is a weighted blanket my wife got for me. It has been a godsend.

  2. Your post got me in the mood to get my family a board game for Christmas, so thank you! Now to go and choose one….
