11 Things This Week
Here’s a look at some interesting things I read/ saw / thought / did this week.

1. Sci-fi Author Nnedi Okorafor Says Publishers Whitewashed Her Book Cover. “As a black woman writing a black female main character in a scifi novel (set in Africa), seeing my character whitewashed on the cover felt-like-erasure.” Check out the pictures.

2. Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the winner of the first annual One Book, One New York campaign to get all New Yorkers to read the same book at the same time. And you can listen to the Americanah audiobook for free at Scribd.com/OneBookNY

3. Yup This is How to Make A Bookworm HAPPY.

4. It’s Now Time to Be Officially Excited about the AMERICAN GODS TV Series … why yes – I think it is.

5. I don’t understand it, but there are some people who purposely Don’t Use Libraries. Oh the horror!

  1. I needed this post. And I need to write more posts about this. The reading part of my brain has downsized.

  2. I cant figure out google analytics.

  3. This is a great post! 😀 I saw the thing that happened with Nnedi Okrafor and it was such a bummer! Thankfully she’s with a different publisher now and all her covers SLAY! Anyway, thank you for linking to my posts, so many interesting posts to check out here 🙂

  4. I did not know about the Nnedi covers. It must have happened during my Twitter hiatus. I can’t believe such intentional mistakes happen even these days.

    1. @Resh such a crazy thing!

  5. I always find such great blogging tips in these posts – and new blogs to follow for said tips. Thank you so much!
