13 Things This Week

Here’s a look at some interesting things we read/ saw / thought / did last week.

-Kim-

ONE. Thank you to everyone who gave feedback on our Monthly Motif Reading Challenge! We had some really great suggestions and look forward to getting the 2018 version posted in a week or so.

TWO. A Month of Faves is almost here! We’re hosting this fun event in December along with Andi- Estella’s Revenge and Tamara- Traveling With T. We hope you’ll join us in recapping the best of the best from 2017! #AMonthOfFaves

THREE. Fun fact- we took our honeymoon to Alaska and it was amazing! I think it’s totally true that if you Move To Alaska, You’ll Read More.

FOUR. Did you vote in the Final Rounds of the Goodreads Choice Awards? I’m excited to see the winners!

FIVE. 100 Stocking Stuffers That Will Actually Be Appreciated. My husband is notoriously hard to buy for so I’m scrolling this list hoping for some inspiration.

SIX. And of course, Bookish Gift Guides are my very favorite. If I could ask for any book it’d probably be Obsidio, the 3rd book in the Illuminae Files series. I’m dying to read that one.

SEVEN. 5 Types of Books to Read When You’re Super Busy. For me, it’s fast paced thrillers.

EIGHT. Tips for Stress Free Holidays. “You don’t have to make everything from scratch.” I absolutely love making pie crust, but this Thanksgiving I’m using frozen crusts to save time.

NINE. 10 Years 10 Books. A Look Back at Kindles Best Sellers. Wow. The Pillars of the Earth was a major flashback for me. I loved reading that book.

TEN. A List of Diverse Middle Grade Books That Are Worth Checking Out.

ELEVEN. Small Business Saturday is almost here and local bookstores are prepping! Will you be supporting any of your local small businesses? I’m going to stop into The Wise Owl Bookery which is a bit of a distance from my house but always a book store I like to support.

TWELVE. 30 Dystopian Novels By and About Women.

THIRTEEN. 2017 National Book Award Winners have been announced. Have you read any of them, yet? I have not.

What are your Thanksgiving plans?

  1. Thanks for linking to my post! And I love fast paced thrillers for busy times too…as long as they have the ending that’s surprising, yet not outlandish…hard to find these days!
