How was your week? For me, back to back traveling and sleeping issues left me feeling exhausted and sick. I’m actually canceling my next 2 trips. I need to re-center myself. Here’s a few things I bookmarked since last time.

Summer Vibes

ONE+ We put in an offer on a cute little house! This is MUCH sooner than expected and it needs a lot of updates which we will be doing slowly probably starting with some simple things, like one of these Do It In A Day – 15 Simple Home Projects.

TWO+ I’ve also been getting lots of decorating ideas from Apartment Therapy Throwback 2020 Small/Cool Contest Winners | House Tours (YouTube).

THREE+ Although our youngest son has gone back to college, the hubs and I still have our games nights and I recently found a few more to try from this list of 13 Fun Games You Can Play at Home With Just 2 People.

FOUR+ Love this Snackle Box idea for beach days. Some people may be welcoming Fall already – but not me! Not until the cold winds drive me from being out on the beach on the weekends.

FIVE+ The one thing I am looking forward to as the weather gets cooler is doing more hikes. I need to get my gear together and will probably follow this Day Hiking Essentials Guide.

SIX+ This week I shared a Functional Digital (W)eekly Plan With Me and I have meal planning in there. Saturday “Lemon Pepper Salmon” was on the plan – delish! But I needed ideas on different ways to use the leftovers – cue 13 Best Leftover Salmon Recipes.

SEVEN+ Have you noticed how food blogs are almost covered with ads?! It’s almost painful looking at them these days and I’m so glad I’ve maintained a few (digital) magazine subscriptions – All Recipes and Food & Wine Magazine currently, but if you have any recommendations, I’m here for it!

EIGHT+ I watched The Gilded Age on HBO Max this week. I liked it and have discovered I really do enjoy these period historical tv shows. I also finished season 1 of Succession – sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t.

NINE+ I’m in a mad sprint to read the books for our reading challenges before the month is out. How are you doing with yours?

TEN+ Don’t pick a book by its rating.

A book I rated 5 stars might only get 3 from me if I rate it now. The rating depends what have I already consumed, what am I currently looking for, personality, etc. Selecting your next book is underrated. It’s a commitment of hours of deep work after all. A book has to be read at the right time.

Interesting! How do you select books to read?

  1. […] I mentioned in my last check-in that we bought a house. We moved in over the weekend and I’m in full nesting mode. […]
